1. Know Your Skin Type. In order to make the right decision on your eye skin care products, you must first identify your skin type. Skin care products are available in various types, depending on the needs of your skin. Having a firm grasp on what your skin needs to be healthy and look good, will help you find a product that will produce maximum results in that area.

2. Drink A Lot of Water. Drink the required 8-10 glasses of water daily. It will not only keep your skin hydrated, but help prevent the accumulation of bacteria, helping you avoid further skin problems like acne.

3. Use cool water in the morning, lukewarm water at night. Cool water in the morning is helpful for not only waking you up and making you feel refreshed, but also for reducing the puffy eyes look we so often experience when waking up. Before bed, use lukewarm water as opposed to hot water because hot water can make the skin exceedingly dry. Also lukewarm water will open up your pores to allow them to be fulling cleansed and rid of dirt and oil from your makeup.

4. Exfoliate weekly. When you do exfoliate, try not to to put too much pressure on the skin around your eyes. Using only a light scrub will ensure you eliminate the top layer of dead skin cells without damaging the delicate skin around the eyes, making it susceptible to wrinkling and becoming over-dryed.

5. Always Use A Moisturizer. Use a good moisturizer, especially if you have dry skin. Most dermatologists suggest moisturizers will have their best effect on your skin if you apply them shortly after washing your face – when your skin is most permeable. Doing so, makes it easier for the active ingredients to do their best work on your skin and make the moisture last throughout the day.

6. Don’t use bar soap. Bar soap will strip your skin of its natural moisture. No amount of moisturizer can replace the oils stripped by bar soap. So just keep your bar soap for the body, not the face.

7. Cover up from the sun. By covering up, I mean using sunsceen as often as possible – even when it’s cloudy. By doing this, you are ensuring less wrinkles in your future. The best way to keep from forgetting is to make sure there is sunscreen in your makeup and eye skin care products.

8. Exercise daily. Some sweat on your face can be just what the doctor ordered. When you perspirate, your skin retains moisture and will, in turn, be brighter because the excess dirt and oils are removed from everything it has taken in during the day. Just make sure you wash your face thoroughly afterwards!

9. Antioxidants are the anti aging secret. By adding antioxidants into your diet on a daily basis you are working to actually reverse, not just prevent, the signs of aging. Antioxidants can reduce and reverse free radical damage and this free radical damage is the number one reason we start to look like we are aging. A good food to keep in mind for getting your antioxidants? Berries! Blue, black, red – the darker the better!

10. Avoid or Learn To Cope Well With Stress. According to studies, this is one of the leading causes of wrinkles. Try to maintain a happy disposition when at all possible. This will not only improve the condition of your skin but increase the quality of your overall health as well. Who wouldn’t want that?

Learning to add these tips to your daily skin care routine will help your skin to look as beautiful as possible. Won’t it feel good to know that you’ve done everything you can to improve your skin and in turn slow down the aging process? Now, once you get used to these tips and they become part of your daily regimen, you can start the search for an eye skin care product that will work well on your skin type, and that product will then become a compliment to this top notch skin care routine.
