Four gentlemen visited me in my office.They came to say goodbye to me. They did not want to be part of this world.. They blamed me for their departure from this world… “It is a shame that individuals like you are forcing us to leave this world. We came here with a noble intention but it seems that you are not interested in us at all . You will suffer all along your life Vish. We curse you……”
” Go to Hell” I said. I have been doing my duty to the best of my abilities and you seem to say that i have been responsible for your exit….”
Turning to the Happiness, the first gentlemen, I said ” You have failed to cheer up people….. so don’t open your mouth…”
To Honesty I said ” You have lost all interest in mankind….You are selfish and care only about yourself… Who cares for you anyway?…”
To Integrity I said ” You fear to partner with ordinary human beings and roam around only with the great people. So Get lost this moment….
To Knowledge I said ” You want to share your secrets only with few people. You are afraid that if everyone knows these secrets your value will be undermined.. You are playing a game and your intentions are not genuine, I don’t need you in any case…
All the four gentlemen left my office. I heaved a sigh of relief. I became light… These four people had good characteristics but they put too much pressure on my being…..
Everyone in this world is trying to be happy….
Everyone in this world is trying to be honest…
Everyone in this world is trying to integrate their inner world with the outer…
Everyone in this world is trying to acquire knowledge…
And they keep trying for the rest of their life……
They will never succeed. How many people have been born and how many have died?. Billions have come and gone and all we have been doing is trying, trying and trying…. We are failing,failing and keep failing….
The reason is simple. …
We tried to find happiness in only good things ,not the bad ones. Who told you my dear friend that happiness means showing of all your teeth? Who gave you the permission to deny happiness in sorrow and pain? Which school of thought related happiness with only pleasure…You belittled your own happiness and forced me to drive this gentlemen away from your life….
Majority of the human beings are honest. They pay all their bills on time and never cheat other people. But they cheat themselves. When you heard that faint voice from within you say something why did you not pay attention to it ?. Why were you not honest to all those wonderful things your inner voice whispered to you? Why did you cheat it my dear friend? Why did you not have the guts to follow it? Why? Why? Why? You did not earmark a place for honesty and forced me to drive this gentlemen away from your life….
You balanced your personal life with your professional life. At least you attempted to do.. But you never cared a damn about balancing your inner world with the outer. You gave it the stupid name of spirituality and gave it the last preference. When everything else failed you took shelter in your inner self. You are not ashamed to visit the bank everyday,you are not ashamed to have sex everyday but you have problems praying to God,to evoke your inner being,to visit a temple,church or mosque…everyday. You thought you could integrate your inner self with the outer at a later date, which stupid thought gave you permission to think in this manner my dear friend? You lost out on a golden opportunity to tap into the vast potential of your higher self and realize all your dreams … You forced me to drive this gentlemen away from your life….
You gave education a lot of respect. I appreciate you for that. You worked hard on your education and you did very well. I salute you for that. But where is the sharpness of the mind… where is the concentration of the mind… How did doubt creep up in your mind, from where did insecurity manage to get in, how did you allow fear to enter into your premises?. How could these have happened if you had the real knowledge? Education is knowing the external world and knowledge is about mastering your inner being. You were educated but you lacked knowledge. You were an individual who went into the battlefield with all the tools but you did not know which territory to capture. You captured everything which came your way and this spelt doom for you… You could see but you could not visualise. You were strong but you were not powerful. You were wealthy but you were not rich. You were happy but you were not blissful… You were ignorant about knowledge and paid no attention to it. You had everything and yet you had nothing…. You forced me to drive this gentlemen away from your life….
“Relax….” said the four gentlemen to me… “We will give you and everyone else another chance. This time we will go out of our way to help everyone.. We promise you that… We will work one on one with every individual . We will work day and night for you. We will help you restore beauty in this world…
I thought about for a moment. Should i accept their proposal… Are these four guys genuine…?
I rose from the table and slapped them hard on their face. I returned home… “Daddy what happened to you, did someone hit you on your face. Your face is all red and swollen” said my six year old son. I looked at the mirror. I could see the four gentlemen smiling. Their face were not red and swollen… They were not affected by my reaction. ” We are here to stay and help you… We are not going anywhere.We look forward to your criticism and active participation….” they seemed to say… I was embarrassed. My child came running. I hid my face. He forced it open with his gentle hands. The redness had disappeared and so was the swelling… We hugged each other.The four gentlemen also participated…… A beautiful world was created that very moment…

Someone was holding a gun at the back of my head. He never pulled the trigger but it always scared me to hell ! I was always a frightened individual. I became nervous and used to panic at small things going wrong. Everywhere i went the gun man followed me… to work, to the bank, to the airport, to the malls, to bed and even when i was asleep….. He never pulled the trigger, perhaps he never wanted to…..
Whenever i wanted to speak up, the gunman raised his voice and i mellowed down like a tame lamb. All times, that i wanted to express my views he would simply tell me to shut up…. There were occasions when i wanted to share my views with people but the moment i rose to speak the gunman made me nervous… My palm used to get wet , i used to panic and everything fell apart…. It seemed to me that he wanted to nip my courage in the bud… This continued for more than 10 years… I got used to the gunman…..
I never ventured to do anything courageous. I went about my daily activities like a hostage pushed from one cell to another….One day i told my five year old son about the gunman… I lacked the courage to tell anyone else…. My son got pretty excited and told me “Dad i would like to meet the gunman…. Next time that he holds the gun at the back of your head call me. I will slowly get behind him and shoot him with my machine gun(he love his toy) and he will die……..” I had a hearty laugh after a long time….
That night i drew little courage from those bold words of my son. I thought instead of shooting him from the back why don’t i take shelter at some place where he can never follow me.Various ideas came to my mind and then a powerful voice spoke from within ……
” When you pray to God and surrender to Him the gunman would never be visible…..
” When you do anything creative you would never spot the gunman…..
“When you listen to your real self, your inner voice the gunman would disappear…
All other times he would follow you…. ”
The powerful voice disappeared….
I was thrilled… Finally, i had found a way to get rid of the gunman.But the very next moment I was frightened again. I prayed to God for only five minutes, i was not a creative person and i never had the habit of listening to my inner voice… So what do i do….?
The powerful voice spoke again….
“Practise seeing the good and the bad in the world through the Lord’s eyes… Use His eyes to see the world and use your eyes to see your inner world…. That way you will be praying to Him all day…..
You don’t have to be a poet,painter, or a writer to be a creative person.. Creativity can be applied to anything that you do.. Creativity is nothing but a slight shift in your thinking pattern, where you allow a greater force to take over you… You don’t apply pressure on yourself, you don’t try to do anything intelligent , you don’t make use of your memory. You allow yourself to travel to a place beyond your senses where the rules of external world do not apply. You allow yourself to be unpredictable and illogical and yet your work would take a shine of its own, a beauty which is unparallel to anything created so far……. Anyone can do this… The best way to get started is to consciously imagine a new world and willingly enter into it…..
Your inner voice was always speaking to you but you had muted it’s voice… You were so engrossed in listening to the stupid tapes which was playing day in and day out in your mind without your knowledge.. All you need to do is practice being silent for a while and you would start listening to your inner voice….
Practice all the above three things and soon the gunman would disappear all by himself…. ”
The powerful voice disappeared…
The next day i woke up in the middle of the night. I heard a gun shot… I looked around and could find no one… I looked inside of me and found a dead man holding a gun in his hand… On a closer look his face resembled mine.. The force of God has shot my lower self in the dark….

The door was closed. He tried hard to get in but could not. The door just would not open. He started banging the door. Five minutes later the owner of the house opened the door and slapped him hard on his face. He fainted. He did not dare to push the door again. He never returned back… Ten years later he met the owner of the house on the street. The owner slapped him again…
We think we own our body and mind. But the reality is we are thrown out of our own house. Try getting in one great idea into your mind and see whether your mind accepts it. It would not. It would slap you in your face. Try suggesting something innovative,something disciplined and it would give you a sound trashing.. There is not a single cell or fibre in our body and mind which we own…..We are all sold out ….
We have no control over our fingers,hands,legs and mouth. We are in possession of our body and mind but we do not own them. We have failed to get into our own house and we talk about building new ones. We have never seen even a square feet of our brand new house and we flaunt about our possessions to the world… We are standing outside this house for ages slapped and trashed everyday and we talk about courage,confidence,security and what not….
Then we do something more stupid… We try to get into other people’s house and suddenly we find that the owner of that house is happy to welcome us. We get a thrill reading about other people’s lives appreciating some and criticising many. The newspapers,media, close friends and collegaues become the key through which we are able to enter into other people’s house. We are overjoyed that finally we are able to enter into a house. We look at other people’s house and dream about building our own one. In the night we go back to our own house. We sleep in cosy beds which are kept outside our real house. We want to get into our house but we fear the owner.. The first few minutes of the morning we dream about building a new house.The owner yells and we mellow down…
Wake up my dear friend. First get into your own house. It is a palace and it is built only for you. It has got all the richness you ever dreamt of. Your mind is not the owner of your house. You are knocking at the wrong door. If you think that the mind is the owner of your house you should be in complete control and possession of your house. Think about it. The mind has fooled you all along your life…. This is a fact not an opinion…
Your house has two doors. The one called the Mind will feed you all through your life but it will treat you like a servant and you will have to stand outside your own house.. It will provide you all the luxuries of life but it will not allow you to enter into your house. It fools you everyday by saying that tomorrow it will let you in but the next day it ditches you. You rebel and it rips you apart. It has fooled you for ages and keeps doing so… You are its victim, its easy prey…
Said my spiritual master to me ” Vish, there is one more door which will allow you to enter into your house. You might have to wait for a month or perhaps a year but it will open for sure. This is guaranteed. Now do not ask me to reveal that door. I will trash you if you ask me to… It is so close to you. . I can only teach you how to knock at that door so that it opens quickly but you have to find that door for yourself…. ”
I could locate that second door instantly but did not believe in it…. A year later day I again spotted the owner of the house in the street. He wore a slightly different look. I ran away from him. He chased me and caught hold of me…. He did not slap me. He hugged me and told me that he is the real owner of my house . He gave me a lift in His vehicle… He dropped me near my house and pointed me to a direction. I proceeded that way. As i walked in there were no walls and obstacles. It was hard to imagine a house without a wall and a door. Yes it was my own house, a palace which took me thirty years to enter… The first breath inside it blew away all my ordinary desires and wants, the second one was even more fulfilling… The third one drew me crazy…The fourth one I tell you what ……
Get into your own house my dear friend. Your mind is not the owner of your house. It has fooled you enough. No more will you stand outside your own house… Knock at that second door and Thy will open it for you…

A question very often asked is “What is Spirituality” ? What are its benefits? Why should I attempt to be spiritual?
This is quite a lengthy discussion in itself but today I want to shed some light on this very important word called “Spirituality” which has been very loosely used over the past decade or so….
The ability to clearly express each of your thought into words, actions or feelings such that every being who feels the need for a similar thought is drawn towards you in such a manner that from that moment on he/she can clearly read your thoughts and be convinced about your integrity as if the same thought first occurred in his/her own mind.
This happens because the barrier between the intellect and heart no longer exists in his/her mind. Your words and actions have done the seemingly impossible task of cutting through the layers of intelligence of the opposite person. He/she has developed this uncanny ability to now watch your thoughts as clearly as they can see your body…
When this happens you can be sure that you are building your spirit and you are on your way to ultimate glory…
Spirituality is nothing but merging of the subtle with the gross. The highest thoughts in you have to perfectly align with your lowest actions and most simplest of words in you… This is what is called Spirituality in Earth Life…….. and the greatest benefit of spirituality is it has the power to replace doubt with trust…
If you notice carefully the No 1 factor, which is responsible for the slow growth of any individual, is ‘Doubt’. We doubt our own abilities, our own thoughts our own actions. In doing so we also doubt the thoughts and actions of every other person whom we come in contact with… and so our individual progress and the progress as a group becomes sluggish…
The only thing, which can replace Doubt, is Trust…
And the question then arises how do we build Trust?
And before we attempt to answer the question as to “How do we build trust, we have to define Doubt…
If I am interacting with someone I am able to see his/her body language but I cannot read his/her thoughts. This is what creates doubt in me… I cannot read his/her thoughts as clearly as I am able to see his/her body actions and so I attempt to stay away from most of the people because I am not clear of his/her intentions…
And this is where Spirituality becomes so very important… If you build your spirit with the intention of making your thoughts as transparent as your actions and words you create an energy field within the universe where all those beings who feel the need for a similar thought are drawn towards you without any effort on your part… They are able to read your thoughts as clearly as they are able to see your body… There is total trust between the other person and you and in this situation both of you benefit because there is really nothing to hold you back… And the best part of this whole thing is the person who came in contact with you has now experienced in first hand the power of spirituality and he/she seeks to carry and spread this marvelous power to every other being they come in contact with… and the whole universe is benefited…
There is no other power which can bring about rapid changes within you and that of the world other than spirituality… It is so powerful and we will discuss a lot of these things inside the very exclusive membership area as we move on…

In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem. One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, “Do you know what I just heard about your friend?” “Hold on a minute,” Socrates replied. “Before telling me anything, I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”
“Triple filter?”
“That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it the Triple filter test.
The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”
“No,” the man said, “Actually I just heard about it and…” “All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?” “No, on the contrary…” “So,” Socrates continued, “You want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left: the filter of usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?” “No, not really.” “Well,” concluded Socrates, “If what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”

Terri Marie: Do you believe then, that we are predestined to meet certain people in our life journey?
John Harricharan: I do not take kindly to the word “predestined.” And let me explain why, not because it’s a bad word but I would like to put it in context “Is the oak seed predestined to become an oak tree”. The answer is yes and no.
If it’s planted, if its nurtured, if it has it’s share of sun and rain and soil, it would evolve into what it is always been, a giant oak tree. However, if it’s taken, put on the piece of rock and smashed with another rock, — although it had that potential to be an oak tree that potential would have not come true. It would have been destroyed by the rock.
So, although, I do not think we are predestined for anything, we are like heat-seeking missiles. We do follow after something of the soul, and our soul, which sees much more than we can see, if you want to call it ‘over soul’ like Jane Roberts did, or our ‘inner self’ or ‘higher self ‘ or whatever it doesn’t matter. It has the larger picture of life than we do. And if we are tuned into that we would find that there are certain people who would make our lives very interesting, and some of them who would make it absolutely hell.
And we may choose to meet, like I did, the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross’ of the world and also, “. we might choose some who would make my life sheer hell., and you might say, “Well, why would you be so silly as to choose that?” Well, nobody could answer for anybody else, but I think it’s because we find it interesting. It is because we find we need it for our own growth or soul growth.
And so, if we were to follow that discussion, we would come to the thought or the conclusion that maybe everything that happens to us wasn’t predestined. Nothing was predestined. We chose at a certain level. And we did that precisely because we needed those experiences to get us to where we want to go. That’s my short answer.
Terri Marie: And thank you for that answer, as well John. So do you think that, perhaps, there are some people that we have made arrangements with perhaps, before we came here to do something?
John Harricharan: Absolutely, I think life is so wonderful, so beautiful, so horrible, so great, so frustrating. So every emotion you could think of that we just could not have sprung up on this earth half a century ago for some of us or there is a lot less than half a century. And we just didn’t spring up fully made, totally this is not the end all and be all of it.
There are quantum physics, particle physics centre, high energy physics or mathematicians and others are starting to say, for example I read a wonderful thing that talked about an equation that leads to infinity, which is 10 to the 5000th power, which I mean is a number beyond your conception. I think of other times being ‘alternate times’. Its simple, we do it right now in our dreams.
We go to sleep at night. Hopefully, and we have dreams whether we admit it or not, whether we remember them or not. And all of a sudden we find ourselves in our boyhood town or village or we find ourselves in a country far-far away. And we are double the age we are in the physical life that we are living. We’ve been doing all kinds of time travel there.
We’ve been experimenting with times space, no respectable scientist since the early twentieth century, will speak of time separate from space. So yes, it is my belief that we have lived before maybe not in the before and after situation. But that we are currently, right now as we talk as I speak with you I am sitting on the third star of Orion, and the Orion’s system. Orion sitting in the hill in Greece watching the sheep or I am running through the jungles of Africa and it is very possible that this is very similar to having a book with an infinite number of pages.
Let’s say, Page 1 to Page 1 million plus 1 multiply by 10 and what not and we are now –as you and I are speaking we are on page 2007, whatever the line and paragraph and line are…. But that all the previous pages exist and all the other pages, which we haven’t read yet, exist. And we certainly can jump from one page to the other and go back in time or go back in pages or go forward into the future. If we do that and we skip up much of pages, the story may not make in a lot of sense. But we are free to do that..
So somewhere along the pages and the lines of time and I use those words very loosely ‘lines of time’. We have made arrangements with each other to meet with each other for our own growth and for helping each other along the way and so we may have made agreements.
Let’s say bunch of us were passing by and we took a look at planet earth –one said to the other, “Tell you what, John, why don’t we stop by there and see what they are upto on earth these days?”. Maybe we will be able to lend them a hand and boom you’re born into Earth Life and immediately you forget or after a little while you forget where you were? How you got there? And you start living Earth Life and like most of us “.we start letting our lives live us instead of remembering where we came from. Remembering how safe we have been.”.
And so we do make arrangements with each other to get together in a little group, to help one another. I have no doubts in my mind that Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, I, Swamiji who was Professor Rishian in my book, and Brad Steiger, many of us have agreed, Terri Marie , Vish have agreed to get together, make connection again and do something that is so wonderful to help our other brothers and sisters as they too struggle up the mountain.
